Theresa (Terri) Bevilacqua is the Manager of Enrollment and Advising for Biomedical Laboratory Sciences. She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, Methodology and Statistics from the State University of New York at Albany, and has spent over 20 years in higher education. She has extensive experience mentoring students and providing leadership for academic advising and support initiatives at the campus and department level. Her focus is on student success and being part of the student journey from start to finish.

Allison M. Cannon is the Laboratory Manager for Biomedical Laboratory Sciences and Post Baccalaureate-Pre Medicine programs. Ms. Cannon hails from Tampa, Florida and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Ms. Cannon has 12 years of experience in laboratory management ranging in subjects like Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology I and II, Botany, and Earth Science. Ms. Cannon's focus and goal is to ensure that every student that enters the laboratories at GW Ashburn are safe and efficiently learning different lab techniques and skills.

Sachi De Silva is the clinical coordinator in the BLS Department. She has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Andrews University, Michigan. Ms. Sachi is a certified medical laboratory scientist with over 6 years of work experience in the clinical laboratories. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases at GW. Ms. Sachi joined the GWU MLS program in 2016. She enjoys working with students and her focus is to provide students with a streamlined and seamless experience during their clinical portion of the program.

Emma Levine

Emma Levine is the Academic Department Administrator for the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences department. She has a Masters degree in Organizational Sciences from The George Washington University. She oversees administrative duties within the department to ensure proper functionality. She enjoys utilizing a wide range of methodologies to enhance both employee and student success.

Ivy Meadows

Ivy Meadows is an Academic Advisor for the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences department. She advises all undergraduate students majoring in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Embryology and Assisted Reproductive Technology, and Molecular Diagnostics. Ivy is originally from West Virginia and received her master’s degree in Social Work from West Virginia University. She is looking forward to utilizing her combined background of mental health counseling and higher education advising to support students over the course of their program.

Jonalyn Phelan

Jonalyn Phelan is the Academic Advisor for the Post Bacc. Certificate program and military affiliated programs. She has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of the Philippines. She has worked in higher education for 10 years in various academic departments but worked mainly as an academic advisor. She has extensive experience working with military students and nontraditional students. Her goal is to help students be successful in their program of study.

Olga Terekhina

Throughout her career in the clinical laboratory, Ms. Olga Terekhina held variety of leadership positions in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology. She has extensive experience in lab operations, management, and regulatory compliance. She is a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist who also holds Molecular Biology certification through ASCP. She earned Master of Sciences degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (with Honors) from the George Washington University. Her professional interests include innovations in lab technology, lab education, and laboratory administration. In her free time, Ms. Olga enjoys walking, reading, and exploring culinary delights. She is committed to empowering students to be successful in their academic journey.
