Theresa (Terri) Bevilacqua is the Manager of Enrollment and Advising for Biomedical Laboratory Sciences. She has a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, Methodology and Statistics from the State University of New York at Albany, and has spent over 20 years in higher education. She has extensive experience mentoring students and providing leadership for academic advising and support initiatives at the campus and department level. Her focus is on student success and being part of the student journey from start to finish.

Allison M. Cannon

Program Manager

Allison serves as the Program Manager for the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences Department.  Her responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues for brochure updates and development, ensuring all materials are accurate, engaging, and aligned with the program’s branding. Allison plays a key role in local student outreach by participating in transfer fairs at community colleges and organizing recruitment events at clinical sites, where she connects with prospective students to showcase the program’s offerings. She also leads virtual information sessions, working closely with advisors and team members to provide insights and answer student questions. In addition to local efforts, Allison focuses on non-local outreach by sending informational materials to MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) programs nationwide and creating social media campaigns to expand the program’s reach.

Sachiko Imbuldeniya

Sachiko Imbuldeniya, MLS (ASCP)CM

Clinical Coordinator

Sachiko Imbuldeniya is the clinical coordinator in the BLS Department. She has a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Andrews University, Michigan. Ms. Sachi is a certified medical laboratory scientist with over 6 years of work experience in the clinical laboratories. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases at GW. Ms. Sachi joined the GWU MLS program in 2016. She enjoys working with students and her focus is to provide students with a streamlined and seamless experience during their clinical portion of the program.

Emma Levine

Emma Levine, MA

Assistant Director

Emma Levine is the Assistant Director for the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences department. She has a Master's in Organizational Sciences from George Washington University. She handles the department's administrative tasks to keep everything running smoothly and enjoys using different strategies to help faculty, staff, and students succeed.

Ivy Meadows

Ivy Meadows, MSW

Academic Advisor, BLS BSHS, MSHS in Clinical Microbiology, and MSHS in Laboratory Medicine programs

Ivy Meadows is an Academic Advisor for the Biomedical Laboratory Sciences department. She advises all undergraduate students majoring in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Embryology and Assisted Reproductive Technology, and Medical Genetics and Molecular Biology. Ivy is originally from West Virginia and received her master’s degree in Social Work from West Virginia University. She is looking forward to utilizing her combined background of mental health counseling and higher education advising to support students over the course of their program.

Jonalyn Phelan

Jonalyn Phelan, MBA

Senior Academic Advisor, BLS Post Baccalaureate Certificates Programs

Jonalyn Phelan serves as the Senior Academic Advisor for the Post Baccalaureate Certificate program and military-affiliated programs. She holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of the Philippines. With over 14 years of experience in higher education, Jonalyn has worked across various academic departments, focusing mainly on academic advising. Her extensive background includes supporting military and nontraditional students, helping them navigate their unique educational paths. She is dedicated to guiding students toward their academic and career goals, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to succeed. Jonalyn aims to create a supportive and empowering environment where students feel confident and motivated to excel in their studies. She is committed to providing personalized guidance and assistance tailored to each student's individual needs and circumstances.

Olga Terekhina

Olga Terekhina, DHSc, MLS (ASCP), MB

Clinical Coordinator

Throughout her career in the clinical laboratory, Dr. Olga Terekhina held a variety of leadership positions in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology. She has extensive experience in lab operations, management, and regulatory compliance. She is a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist who also holds Molecular Biology certification through ASCP. She earned a Doctorate in Health Sciences in Leadership in Clinical Practice and a Master of Sciences degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (with Honors) from The George Washington University. Her professional interests include innovations in lab technology, lab education, and laboratory administration. In her free time, Dr. Olga enjoys walking, reading, and traveling. She is committed to empowering students to be successful in their academic journey.
