Gain an Edge Summer Program Application

Application Instructions:

The “Gain an Edge” summer program is geared for high school students that intend to pursue an undergraduate (Associate or Bachelor’s) college-level degree. This program builds skills in areas that are critical for success in college as well as in the job market. To be considered for this program you must be at least a rising sophomore in high school. Students that don’t fall into this category will be considered on a case-by-case basis (e.g., college freshman, those looking to go back to college, etc.). Unofficial transcripts must be emailed to gwgainanedge@gwu.edu with the applicant's name in the subject line. Please see your guidance counselor as to how to obtain your unofficial transcript.

Financial Assistance

Students who qualify for financial assistance will have their registration fee waived.

Please be aware that misrepresenting yourself will lead to loss of aid.

Any individual who comes from a family with an annual income below a level based on low-income thresholds established by the U.S. Census Bureau, adjusted annually for changes in the Consumer Price Index, is considered economically disadvantaged and may quality for assistance. Please refer to the U.S. Census Bureau (see 2022 file) for more clarity on low income levels.
